Life After Death is on the go again, finally. I'm still trying to complete the chapter, but I figure if I should post the first part since it is complete and can stand (sort of) alone.

The other chapters are here on fanfiction.net .

Chapter 10: The Arena, Part 1 )

Well it's back. I've been fighting this and my other stories for a long time now. I ended up listening to all the good folks on [livejournal.com profile] fanficrants ... yeah I know, that was a huge mistake. I ended up listening to them and deciding that the path that I was heading on was the wrong one. So I rethought and rewrote and found myself falling further and further into writer's block. So, I followed the advice of the folks on [livejournal.com profile] onedeadbunny and I drafted out a plot outline of my upcoming chapters.

And that was when everything came to an abrupt and complete stop. No matter what I did, I couldn't write anything resembling decent prose for my "epics". So I hemmed and hawed and tried to write and nothing worked. And then I spoke to a good friend of mine and bitched about my problem.

And he presented me with a very wise truth. I can't write outlines because I've already written the story. In my mind it is completely complete and all I need to do is transfer it to paper. Sure it's not a normal way of writing, and any teacher of the subject would have me taken out back and shot, but for me, it works. For me, just letting the words flow is the best way to write.

And so, finally, I am able to present Chapter 9 of Life After Death. I had had this particular notion of an outside interlude for a long time, but I dismissed it because it's not normal and I had read far too many rants on how this is a horrible thing to do. Finally though, I have gotten over my doubts and I've been able to write this little chapter.

Thanks for the advice Corradus. I really needed it.

Now onto the story ... )

Well, chapter 8 of Life After Death is done, I think. It’s a little short, but the rest of the things I want to add really fit better into a new chapter, since it deals with an entirely new locale. Any thoughts or opinions? Anything would be appreciated.

I'm not entirely sure about this chapter. I think it needs something. It needs to be tightened up or something. I thought I would post it here first, to see if anyone had any comments or thoughts.

The rest of the chapters can be found on FFNet here: http://www.fanfiction.net/s/3066891/1/

Three Steps Back )

In continuation of the long silent 28 Smokescreens, I give you [livejournal.com profile] dragoness_e's request of Daring Smokescreen

It is a cut scene from “Life After Death” and is a death-fic (sort of) but I hope I did it justice. Any thoughts and/or comments would be much appreciated, even if it's to tell me that you really don't like it.

Well, Metamorphosis is progressing nicely. I've finally figured out where Chapter 10 is going, which is nice seeing as I have to post it next Wednesday if I'm going to keep on schedule.

I have found myself questioning the organization of the story, however. I'm wondering if I wouldn't be better off writing three seperate stories rather than seperating the chapters as I am. ... Maybe I'm not giving my readers enough credit. I think the problem is that I am not getting any feedback on the new chapters and the hit count has dropped dramatically, so I'm a concerned that I'm loosing my readers. Admitedly, I am planning on having two of the three branches come together in the next ten chapters. Maybe that will make a difference.

Ah well, I'll keep an eye on things and make a decision later.

As for Life After Death, that baby is back on the rails. The boys still have to make their escape attempt and Eltara has some tricks in her packs, but it's coming along nicely. I'm hoping that I'll be able to give Tandor some more air time. He really is quite clever and dangerous, just a little spineless whenm it comes to his Captain and twu wuv. There's a lot that I want to cover before the boys get out of this.

And Donatello and Raphael are refusing to talk to me about Return to Darkness, so that's at a bit of a standstill. All I've been able to put down is that it takes place while Leo is in Japan, so I won't have to write him (I've always had problems writing his character properly).

Nothing is really coming to me from Smokescreen (I think he's angry at me for sticking him in Life After Death), though I do have a plot bunny for Daring Smokescreen, but it's a deathfic and I don't know if I want to write it. And lastly, I'm stuck on Vingettes and the [livejournal.com profile] mecha_erotica December Challenge is just a nugget so far.

... You know, after writing this, I know what my problem is. Oversaturation ... I really need to cage these bunnies and get them sorted out ...

Well I seem to have gotten this train back onto it's tracks.

I had been intending on finishing Metamorphosis before continuing with Life After Death, but I just got a memo from the 'dead' characters. They politely reminded me that they'd like some screen time, if I really wouldn't mind. I tried throwing high grade at them to keep them quiet, but Red Alert confiscated it and then yelled at me for trying to buy their silence ...

So here I am, working on Chapter 6 instead of finishing NaNo. It's being tentatively called Two Steps Forward, Three Steps Back.

The biggest problem is that I know where I'm going, I just don't quite know which route to take ... It'd be nice if there was a GPS for writing ...
