Yeah, I guess the guy really didn't know what he was talking about. The Sony they had looked a little shoddy simply because it had been dropped at one point in it's life and some of the keys were missing. ... Yeah, I know, not necessarily the thing to go by.
In the end, the HP had what I wanted and it was decently priced. It came to a little over 1,300 with the taxes, and that's pretty decent for Ottawa right now. Acer was considerably cheaper, but I'd never heard of them and I tend to be leery about the lowest bidder.
