I just found out that one of my co-workers lives just up the street from me. Literally, just up the street. She's at the corner of Golflinks and Hawktree and I'm halfway down Hawktree. ... very, hmmm, not odd. But I guess it just shows to go you.

In other news, my Tante Julienne is coming on Sunday and staying for a week. She's my mother's Marraine (godmother), and is like a grandmother to me. Her daughter Jacqueline may as well be my aunt, and Bill (Julienne's husband) is one of the coolest men in the world. They've decided to come to Ottawa because they were already in upstate New York for a wedding and figured they may as well come here too, since Ottawa and Albany are so close ... well, sort of close anyway.

So the rest of the week will be spent working and cleaning house, making everything nice and neat. I purchased the little mini transformers of the movie characters and they are presently living in my bathroom, but they'll have to find a place on my toy shelf with the rest of the guys. Maybe I'll gather them around Movie Starscream and he can protect them from Alternators Sunstreaker (who looks about ready to eat them). ... I really need to take a picture of my collection as it's growing.

Yeah, I'm a geek about my toys, but I never had them as a child. Since I was a girl (and still am a girl - I think) I got My Little Ponies and Barbie knockoffs ... I never had a real Barbie, but I did have Donnie and Marie Osmond and some black girl with white hair and purple eyes. I don't remember her name but if you told me it was Mary Sue, I wouldn't be surprised.

I'm hoping to get more writing done too, but that will have to be before they arrive or after they leave, because I don't get enough time with my Tante Julienne as it is. I can't take time off of work because Mirreille, the AA to the Executive Director (or Underboss, as I call him in private), is leaving on Tuesday for a job in Quebec City and I'm taking over for her as well as doing my receptionist duties until they hire a new AA. It'll be busy, but worth it if it means I can stay longer.

Tika is doing better, by the way. She's still mad at me, but she's getting back into a bit of a routine. She sleeps on my bed again, and lies under my computer lamp as I work at home. She hates being alone and when I leave she'll go hide in the bottom hole of Keegan's pedestal. I think that it's a safety thing. While she's with me, she knows she's safe. When she's in the hole she's surrounded on five sides, so no one can get her. The boys are still afraid of her. My dad thinks it's because she's different now and they don't know what to make of it. She probably also smells wrong. She hasn't been able to bathe properly since the operation, but the stitches come out on Monday so we can stop worrying about her pulling them out and leave her alone to wash the area as thoroughly as it needs to be.

So, all good.
