So I'm sitting in my office doing the usual thing and trying not to scratch my eyes out.

I just got my new contact prescription and it is decidedly strange not to see with the fuzzy edges that I have been taking for granted for the last year and a half. As a bit of an explanation, I used to wear contacts, I had a six month prescription that I let run out and I've been wearing my glasses ever since.

Last week I went in to get my eyes checked (it had been two years and after September OHIP won't cover eye exams). I discovered that my left eye has become slightly worse, but it was not necessary to get a new prescription. However, I needed new contacts, and my glasses have been scratched to s**t, so I went into Derwin to put in the contact prescription. They arrived at some point last week and I was able to pick up the prescription on Monday night.

So, back to the original point of my story, I put my contacts in for the first time this morning, and not only is my vision completely clear, but the inside of my eyelids are itching. I had forgotten that contacts itch.
