I just finished re-reading Relic by Preston and Child. I had forgotten just how good it was. It's interesting to go back to the beginning of this collaboration and see just how the characters started off. Many of the authors who have reoccurring characters make the characters static. The guy you meet in one is the same guy you meet in six. This isn't the case with these two. I can't wait to see how D'agosta's changed in Brimstone.
I do believe that I will have to make an effort to pick them all up and re-read them all in order to pick up on the connections between the books.
I think I've figured out the eye reference in Cabinet of Curiosities and Still Life with Crows, but I won't post it here in case there are Pendergasters reading this who haven't figured it out and want to. Preston and Child have stated that it will be explained in Brimstone. ... It's out now, but in hardback, and I don't want to buy it in hardback. CoC is proof that there are text differences in the hardback and paperback copies.
I guess I'll just re-read the series in paperback and try to get back into the Faye Kellerman books. I also have to finish Fellowship of the Ring, and Marcus Aurellius' Meditations, and the book on the sinking of the Caledonia, and Wicked, and the book on Bushido, and all the other unread books on by bookshelf ... I really should read what I've got before I go out and buy more ... Oh well, what I've got should take me through until Brimstone is released in paperback.
