Apparently there are a good number of Iraqi urban legends sprouting up about the Americal soldiers. Here are some of them:
- American vehicles have force shields that detonate RPG rockets before they strike. Apparently the shields can be fooled by wraping the RPGs in electrical tape.
- American sunglasses allow the soldiers to look through clothing
- American bullet proof vests contain air conditioning units.
Apparently some American troops are taking advatage of these beliefs by claiming to have mysterious advanced technology, thus leading some Iraqis to surrender. .... Old tactic, but potentially effective as long as the enemy doesn't call your bluff.
