26 May 2006 08:37Poor Huntly has an infection in an area no male should have an infection. We apply polysporing and he gets so nervous, little eyebrows moving and much licking of lip. The vet has given us antibiotics, one pill every 12 hours. I am very thankful that giving pills to dogs is infinitely easier than giving them to cats.
In the past we've just made a big deal and he's swallowed them, thinking that they're treats. This time he will not be fooled. He get's excited, takes the pill, and spits it out like we're feeding him shit (and not the good kind, that he apparently likes ... ewww). So we pry open the mouth, pop the pill in, and keep his mouth closed while we wait for him to swallow. He eventually does.
Another week of this ...
