14 March 2007 14:48You know, I love my two youngest, I really do, but I am so glad we got them neutred. I guess that Keegan and Logan are feeling the coming of Spring in their nonexistent little cockles because they have decided that they have to name EVERYTHING!
Now, normally male cats spray, but since they got the snip-snip done before they hit puberty they don't have the ability. However, cats have scent glands in their paws. All day and all night the two of them are wandering around the house rubbing their front paws over every surface. They jumped onto the plant shelf and named it all. They leaned out over the banister and named the ceiling (we have 14 foot ceilings). They have named the insides of all the litters and they have named the bathtubs. But the big spot of contention is the area aroun the dog's dish. I am just very glad that Huntly has no idea what they're doing, otherwise we'd have two very dead Toms on our hands (Huntly doesn't share food).
I was kept up last night by the sound of Logan naming the corners of my room. I don't know if he's doing this because he likes the room or if it's because Tika spends most of her time there (apparently she's his true love). I swear that they will wear their little paws down to bloody stumps if they keep this up.
It reminds me of the scene in Red Dwarf when Cat was marking the ship as his with his perfume bottle.
"*spritz* That's mine! *spritz* And that's mine! And see that little spot? That's not mine. But that? *spritz* That's mine! YEOW!"
