17 March 2008 15:32I have come to the conclusion that my father's dislike of hospitals is fully justified. See, dad says that hospitals are terrible places because that's "where they keep the sick people".
He's been in and out of the hospital for the last couple of weeks to attend physiotherapy and heart-health classes. And now, he's come down with a cold. Unfortunately, there's very little he can take since most meds have the side effect of increasing his heart rate. And he's given it to my mom, who's limited on her possible cold meds because of her high blood pressure. So the two of them are wandering aound my house, coughing and sneezing and generally being miserable.
And now, of course, they've passed the damned thing on to me. I just got over a cold, damn it! I don't need another one! *grumble*
It is leading to some interesting plot bunnies, however. How exactly would giant alien robots react to the notion of human viruses, or just how relaxed we are about things like Influenza (a disease that, until recently had one of the highest body counts of any disease)? Maybe I should plant this at a bunny farm ...
