I am finding that I'm having major problems with my TF/MCU fic. I know where I want to go, I even have several scenes plotted out, but I have no idea of how to get there. It doesn't help that there's an insidious little voice int he back of my mind that keeps on reminding me that this basic plot has been done before (and better) by others. I keep telling the voice to shut up, but I'm still sitting here, looking at draft number fifteen of Chapter 1 (an essential chapter because it's where the TFs become human and are grabbed up by various human groups). I know who I NEED to have in the scene but I have no idea of how to get them from point A to point B, plus I'm unsure on how to reveal the world building I'm doing. Infodump? Drips and drabs? Bit of both? And how do I reveal the fact that I've changed the alignment of certain characters?
Maybe I should have started this with a series of one-shots to create the world building ...
I got a couple of likes and a repost from the posting of my prologue, so I guess it's garnered some interest, so there should be readers of the fic proper should it ever be finished. Even one reader is good and will make the uncertainty worth it. I just need to figure out who to include in this story and resist the urge to include fan favourites for whom I have no voice. There's no point in bringing in IDW specific characters when I don't read IDW.
