Okay, so the idea of a blanket statement granting and/or denying permissions* has come to my attention recently and, after taking a few days to think about it, I have put together my blanket statement on permissions. Honestly, at first I thought that this was ridiculous, but then it occurred to me that others could make use of a Permission, and that this is the type of thing that really should become more common in the fandoms.
* The "original" idea was from akamine_chan and her line "...take the time to create a transformative works policy And by transformed, I mean podficced or remixed or artified and more. Put a note in your profile, make a sticky post, etc." It seems that this idea has been around in some of the other fandoms for a while now, but I don't recall ever seeing it in the TF or TMNT fandoms.
Art of my stories - Yes, please! I love art, so if you want to create something, please feel free. The only thing that I ask is that you link back to my work and that you provide me with a link to your work.
Guest Writing in one of my universes - Please feel free to! As with the art, I only ask that you link back to my original work and that you provide me with a link to your work.
Exception to the above: I generally will not grant approval to use one of my original characters. Feel free to email me and make your case, and we can discuss this, however. While this is likely to be a hard and fast rule, I am more than open to discussion. Also, I would appreciate it if you didn't do anything for my works in progress without contacting me first.
Translations: I am very likely to grant permission to translate my works, but I would like to speak with you about it first. Please feel free to contact me.
Podfics: This is one I am a bit leery of. It's not that I dislike podfics, it just that I know what emphasis I was going for and it's very easy to change that with the spoken word. That being said, I am open to discussion, so, should you want to podfic something of mine, please contact me and we can discuss it.
Remixing: This is a concept I have only just recently learned of, and I'm afraid that I'm going to have to say no. I am open to the idea of drawing inspiration from one of my stories, but not of remixing it. It's just too close to plagiarism in my mind. I realize that I may have the concept completely wrong, and therefore, I am willing to be open to discussion.
If there's anything I'm not covering or if you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
MASTER FICTION LIST
Transformers: G1
The Polyhex Candidate - Jazz is captured by the Decepticons and reprogrammed into a targeted assassin. It is up to Mirage and Smokescreen to bring him back (assuming they can put aside their differences long enough to do it); meanwhile, Ultra Magnus is trying to keep the Autobots together while dealing with the problems of being the Acting Prime. (WIP)
The Nightingale Effect - Smokescreen is damaged in battle and is saved by Swindle. Unfortunately Vortex has plans for the Autobot psychologist and Smokescreen finds himself reprogrammed as a Decepticon tasked with the mental health of Megatron's crew. (WIP)
The Sessions - A series of one-shots from Smokescreen's POV, describing the various psychological sessions he has with the Autobot crew.
War Room - Prowl, Smokescreen, and Trailbreaker plan out the defense of Praxus.
What Measure? - Smokescreen acts as Devil's Advocate for Prime as Optimus questions his decision to abandon Nightbird.
Rave and Roll - Soundwave and Blaster act as DJs at a human rave.
Possible Side Effects May Include ... - Sunstreaker is presenting signs of an allergy and it's up to Hoist to figure out the cause.
Watching - Breakdown knows that they're always watching; always listening.
Note: This list will be completed in due time.
