When does bureaucracy go too far? When does the bureaucratic system become a huge pain in the ass for everyone involved?
Right now I am sitting at my desk contemplating the fact that I will likely not get paid this week for last week's work. See, normally my time sheet needs to be signed by someone who can confirm that I was, in fact, in the office for the hours I'm claiming. Anybody other than a Temp can sign the sheet since it's not a binding contract (the contract is something else). Where I am now, however, things are not so simple. First I need my supervisor to inititial the hours and then my director has to sign. This normally isn't a problem except that supervisor was on her compressed day on Friday and my director is away today ... Well, actually, he decided not to come in. Apparently he does this from time to time. How this man ever got made the director of a department, I'll never know, but it does explain why he doesn't have an AA. She would have killed him long ago.
I am already pissed with this place and never want to work with them again, and this isn't helping matters any. *grumble*
EDIT: My supervisor pulled a Hail Mary and found someone to sign my time sheet five minutes before it was due in at the agency ... This doesn't change my opinion of them as an organization though.
