ladystarscream. Five favourite fics ...? Okay, then, my five favourite stories, in no particular order.
1. I adore Life After Death. It was inspired bystraya's Second Chances. I had originally planned for it to be a simple story of how the dead from Transformers: The Movie actually survived, without doing the, apparently normal, "They're back just because". It really did start out as a simple little story about a strange Quintesson back-up plan, in case reviving Optimus Prime didn't work. And then the Sinorians and Ultaree crawled into my head, and it's taken off from there. Originally the Sinorians were only supposed to be a plot device, but now they've taken on a life of their own.
2. Metamorphosis is, I think, my most ambitious work. It originally started out as an entry for NaNoWriMo (the National Novel Writing Month competition). I had figured that if I'm going to tell the story of Life After Death, then I should also tell the story of what was happening back in the known universe. It ended up evolving from a simple "Megatron's Return" story into a "Unicron Returns" story. See, thanks to my exposure to the comics, I've always worked with the idea that Unicron is a god, and only a god can kill a god. I like Rodimus lots, but he's no god. My theory is that all he did was destroy a shell and that Unicron is still out there biding his time. And then, for some reason, it split into three seperate stories. The first was Soundwave's attempt to bring Megatron back. The second was the story of Optimus's problems dealing with the new world and Hot Rod trying to find his place after being Rodimus. And the third was the story of the Unicronians attempt to bring Galvatron back.
3. I had a whole lot of fun writing Just Friends? for the![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-community.gif)
mecha_erotica November "Get Prowl Laid" challenge. The challenge was to pair Prowl up with someone who wasn't Jazz. It started out as a one-shot, but it's become the pairing of choice for my Mecha_Erotica entries. So far, I'm keeping those stories seperate from the rest of my universe.
4. I think that one of my ultimate favourites is Regrets. It was my entry for thefanfic100 prompt of Ends. I have in my mind an original character who was involved with Ratchet before the war. Regrets became the story of the day after Ratchet learned that she had been killed in a Decepticon attack. It actually came out of nowhere and became one of my all time favourites.
5. And lastly I have to include Waiting. Again, it was for thefanfic100 challenge, this time for the prompt Hours. It's a story of Ratchet waiting for Wheeljack to get out of intesive care after he has blown himself up (again). As with Regrets it came out of nowhere, and it was going nowhere until Sunstreaker strolled into my head. It originally came into my mind as two pictures. One was of Ratchet sitting at his desk, going through data pads and looking stressed. And the other was of Sideswipe straddling a chair. I tried writing the story with Sideswipe in Sunstreaker's role and it just didn't work. And then, I realized that I had the wrong twin.
