Happy New Year everyone!

So [livejournal.com profile] ladydragon76 posted a meme that she got from over at Dreamwidth that looks interesting. The Fandom Snowflake Challenge.

Day 1

In your own space, post a rec for at least three fanworks that you have created. It can be your favorite fanworks that you've created, or fanworks you feel no one ever saw, or fanworks you say would define you as a creator.

1) The Devil You Know -- The Stormchaser was transporting refugees away from Cybertron when it crashed on an uncharted world. The records show that there were no survivors. The records were wrong. This is the story of those few survivors and their fight to get home.

This one was one of my earlier works and my first successful attempt at something really long and novelish. It certainly has its fault. Not to toot my own horn, but I think that my writing has improved tremendously since 2008. It hasn't gotten a lot of views, I think mainly because it's filled with OCs rather than canon characters. I'm very proud of the core of it, though one day I think I'll rewrite it to fit in more with my present style and to clean up the rough edges. And eventually I will write the follow up. Because, silly me, I left it on a cliffhangerish ending fully intending to take up the continuation in another fic I was working on that never got finshed. Once day I will complete and post "Life After Death"

"The Devil You Know" is important to me because it marks a point in my writing. I wrote this for NaNoWriMo and it was the first (and only) time I completed the challenge. I was rather proud of it at the time (still am), but its reception was less than stellar and that allowed my inner critic to take over. Stupid, really, but it is what it is. Now this isn't me begging for more reviews or more hits, this is just me reccing one of my earlier works that you may not have seen.

2) Plague of Need - An accident years ago left them bonded forever. They thought it defined who and what they were. But fifteen years later Ratchet and Megatron would be faced with what the bond truly means to themselves and to each other.

I seriously love this story. I always hated that Marvel created this epic history between Ratchet and Megatron and then promptly forgot about it. I know that was a throw-away frame in G2, and eventually FunPub did a comic and then a story covering the end of things, but none of it ever really sat right with me. This is one of my darker stories, and that's saying a lot seeing as I pretty much only write darkfic. I think I got both characters down really well and I like that you can interpret it as either Stockholm or Lima syndrome.

3) Forced Fit - Donatello is having serious problems with sparing and is ready to throw in the towel until a pep talk from Splinter helps him get through his fears and doubts.

I don't get a lot of bunnies for TMNT sadly, but the ones I do get are always Donatello-centric. I particularly like this one because I think I've captured the problems that Donnie faces in the group in the newer animated series. He's always struck me as the weakest combatant and, as such, he seems to have some serious self-issues. I think that this story covers his feelings and his connection with Splinter really well.

And that's that.
