This is part 2 of the Snowflake Challenge I posted yesterday. As before, this comes from over on Dreamwidth (here)

Day 2

In your own space, post a rec for at least three fanworks that you did not create. Drop a link to your post in the comments. See if you can rec fanworks that are less likely to be praised: tiny fandoms, rare pairings, fanworks other than stories, lesser known kinks or tropes. Find fanworks that have few to no comments, or creators new to a particular fandom and maybe aren't well known or appreciated. Appreciate them.

In no particular order:

1. Schism - This is a Final Fantasy 7/X crossover piece that I feel really keeps to the characters and keeps to the source material beautifully. So very often crossovers are done badly, with one or both party getting their characters warped and twisted.

Summary: A day after Cloud and Sephiroth's final duel, a strange visitor named Auron appears on the doorstep of Seventh Heaven. His arrival starts a conflict that will decide not only their fates, but that of the Planet itself.

2. People know that I don't tend to like Prowl/Jazz. While I find that the pairing can work, it often doesn't because one character (or both) gets neglected or actively altered to force the pairing. That being said, when Prowl/Jazz works its a beautiful thing to behold, like it is in this piece by also07 on DeviantArt.

I adore the look on their faces, I love the inner story my mind is coming up with to go along with this. It's all around a great example of how these two very different characters can work in the right hands and how it can be so much more than "smash the pretties".

3. I am a huge Lovecraft fangirl. I love everything about his work and the work of those influenced by him and those who influenced him in return. This next piece isn't precisely Cthulhu, but it has that feel for me, and I think that more people should see emptyfridge's lovely drawing of a pirate ship at the mercy of massive tentacles.

4. As you probably know, I absolutely adore Ratchet/Megatron. The potential pairing has been there since Budianski first had Ratchet kick Megatron off that cliff in the comics and continues on in my mind. After all, Ratchet is the one mech to consistently hand Megatron his aft; no less than three times in the comics, might I add. I find that few fics show that powerful relationship quite as well as Never Underestimate a Medic by Dragonseeker789.

Summary: Megatron finds out that a medic can be far more dangerous than he thought; in fact they can be downright devious, sneaky and underhand, it doesn’t pay to underestimate one, especially if he’s protecting a patient!

5. And finally someone who I think doesn't get nearly enough attention in the fandom (and not just because she's my friend), BitterEloquence. I could gush for a long time about her well thought out, beautifully characterized style, but I will just leave you with Bonds of Trust. Do keep in mind, I tend to prefer darker works, so, please, heed the warnings.

Summary: A story from Soundwave's point of view about the night the Decepticon army made itself known to Cybertron and the lengths he will go through for a mech he can finally be loyal to. Possible trigger material BDSM/Branding Please, heed the warnings.

I'm going to leave it at that, otherwise I'd be posting Crackalackalicious again, as well as everything by Straya, Kidu's Adapt, almost all of VixenShadow's and Casha's works, and countless others.
