So Alex Boese over at the Museum of Hoaxes posted a story about a theory on Princess Diana's death. Now, normally, I avoid these theories like my life depends on it, but this one was just too crackpot to pass up.

David Alice, of dianamystery.com, has theorized that Morrissey (former lead singer of The Smiths) predicted the death of Princess Diana.

He claims that this prediction is made on the Album "The Queen Is Dead", as well as on the covers of the albums "Singles" and "Alma Matters". Oh, and when he was aked about her death, Morrissey replied that "It was so predictable".

The whole thing smacks of the "Paul Is Dead" theory, sort of ... well kind of in reverse, since Morrissey is supposedly prescient while the Paul McCartney stuff implies postcognition. Alex talks about that too, by the way. The article on the "Paul Is Dead" theory is here.

Anyway, here's the link to the Diana story, and it features a video that Alice released. I'll let you decide for yourself if the claim holds any ... uhm, validity?

Personally, I think that all Alice has proved is that Morrissey killed Diana ;p

No, see, what happened is that Diana got a snootful of Morrisey's music and promptly killed herself...
