This has cause a huge kufufle in the media. I've been listening to CFRA all morning and the debate has become quite interesting. It seems that the concensus among Lowell Green listeners is that it's fine to send a bible home, and that they should be sending the Koran, the Torah, the writings of Karl Marx, and other religious and philosophical works home as well to get children exposed to other points of view. SOme of the listeners even went so far as to suggest that Public Schools should offer comparative religions courses.
This whole thing amazed me. I always thought that the people who listened to Lowell Green were conservative Christians. I would have expected this attitude from liberals. I was quite refreshed.
One listener compared the new liberal attitude in the world to 1984 (George Orwell). I have to say that I saw his point of view, and will have to find my copies of George Orwell's stuff.
