The US is getting rid of daylights saving and, apparently, several provinces are on the road to doing the same. The Americans behind this plan, say that this will save millions of dollars in electricity.

Maybe, maybe not. I won't claim to fully understand how such things work.

But here's my question. If we get rid of daylight saving, will anyone notice? I mean, in winter, regardless of what the clock says. It's dark when I leave for work and it's dark when I return, and since Ionly get to go out at lunch and Ottawa weather is the shits in winter, I never see the daylight anyway. So, what does it matter?

I do know that nowhere else is this bizzare practice ... uhm .. practiced. Maybe the rest of the world knows something that we have yet to learn?

I have been evil. Not only have I spent way too much money on yarn lately, but I just bought a bunch of children's books. I bought the first six Nancy Drew books (in two volumes), Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, and Alice Through the Looking Glass. This adds to the otehr books I bought earlier (The Little House series, the A Wrinkle in Time series, and The Narnia Chronicles)

Apparently both Christine and I are feathering her nest, what with book buying an baby blanket making. I think that I will enjoy being an aunt.

I'm beginning to wonder which one of us is planning on having the kids, her or me. I know that I don't want kids of my own, but at 31, I think my biological clock is getting a bit loud.
