28 March 2006 08:32You know, the bus stop should not be a place of political activism, it really shouldn't.
See, in my little riding we are having a provincial election this Friday. Our old MPP is no longer in the position (I have no idea why) and so, we are going back to the polls. Unfortunately, the PC followers chose today to decend upon Fallowfield Station. They stopped people as they ran for their buses, they blocked the entrances to buses, and generally made nuicances of themselves, all in an attemt to get us to vote PC. Well, guess what, Lisa McLeod? I missed my bus and was late to work thanks to your little flunkies, and I'm bitter and vindictive enough to not vote for you because of this.
And not only did they get in everyone's way, but they were yelling at people. If you refused the woman's flyer, then the man yelled at you: "YOU KNOW THERE'S AN ELECTION ON FRIDAY?!" ... Yes, I know, leave me the hell alone!
And, you know, during the lead up to the Federal election, Pierre Poillivre and his folks did the same thing (decend, I mean), but they were polite, they stayed out of the way, and they ensured that they didn't interfere with transit. So why is it that McLeod's flunkies felt the need to get in the way?
I am less than pleased.
