I voted for Chiarelli. Yeah, I know he wasn't the best Mayor out there, but at least he never compared the homeless to pigeons.

I really have to wonder what goes on in O'Brien's mind sometimes. I mean what politician in his right mind says (and I quote - from the Ottawa Sun):

"We've got to stop feeding the pigeons (referring to homeless people) in the Byward Market," O'Brien said on Madely in the Morning.

"And we did that with real pigeons about 25 or 30 years ago and low and behold, you barely ever see a pigeon around here. You start doing that with the panhandlers -- you stop giving out those toonies -- and they'll stop hanging around here."

Does that man ever think before he opens his mouth? Well, I suppose I should hope that he'll commit political suicide while in office and then we'll get someone who isn't quite so much of an idiot.

You know what would be very nice? It'd be wonderful if some people (American and otherwise - I'm looking at you Canada) would read the U.S. Constitution Ammendments before shooting their mouths off.

It's right there, in black and white. It's not even like it's couched in legalese.

The media seems to be the worst offender too. ... I suppose I shouldn't be surprised.

I would also love it if people would get to know their general rights before bitching about it ... recently a Canadian woman was arrested in Georgia for speeding. Due to a soon to be passed law, she was held in jail until they could check out her papers and make sure there were no outstanding warrants. She's still bitching that they never read her her rights and they held her without cause. No one in the Canadian media has yet mentioned that the real world isn't television and that the cops can often hold you up to 48 hours before laying charges and don't have to read you your rights until they lay charges. The whole thing was ridiculous from the get go, but she's busy complaining that "OMG! It's not like this on Law and Order!"

... sory, that's been building up for a while. Feel free to ignore me ...

This is something that I just cannot believe. Last night there was a news story about an American Congresswoman who jumped the security line

This woman ignored the security checkpoint and was grabbed by the security guards. She is now claiming that it was racial profiling. After all, she is only one of 14 black women in Congress, so the guard should have been able to recognize her even though she wasn’t wearing her ID pin. …. Apparently this particular woman lacks the mental faculties to grasp that people other than Congress people enter government buildings, and that being an elected official does not exempt her from the security checkpoint.

She has complained that the security guard should have recognized her. While I admit that the Pages should be able to identify members of Congress, the security guards don’t need to. All they need to do is ensure the security of Congress, and they do that by stopping stupid moos who try to go around the metal detector.

Racial profiling has nothing to do with anything. McKinney was stopped because she was a stupid entitlement bitch. I seriously hope that if she did assault that guard that she is arrested, and that she is never elected into a position of authority again.

You know, the bus stop should not be a place of political activism, it really shouldn't.

See, in my little riding we are having a provincial election this Friday. Our old MPP is no longer in the position (I have no idea why) and so, we are going back to the polls. Unfortunately, the PC followers chose today to decend upon Fallowfield Station. They stopped people as they ran for their buses, they blocked the entrances to buses, and generally made nuicances of themselves, all in an attemt to get us to vote PC. Well, guess what, Lisa McLeod? I missed my bus and was late to work thanks to your little flunkies, and I'm bitter and vindictive enough to not vote for you because of this.

And not only did they get in everyone's way, but they were yelling at people. If you refused the woman's flyer, then the man yelled at you: "YOU KNOW THERE'S AN ELECTION ON FRIDAY?!" ... Yes, I know, leave me the hell alone!

And, you know, during the lead up to the Federal election, Pierre Poillivre and his folks did the same thing (decend, I mean), but they were polite, they stayed out of the way, and they ensured that they didn't interfere with transit. So why is it that McLeod's flunkies felt the need to get in the way?

I am less than pleased.
