It never ends ...
22 February 2008 12:06Dad was back in the hospital last night. At about 1 AM he started suffering from chest pains and broke out in a cold sweat. He was released this morning. The doctors say that he did not have a heart attack, but they don't know what's wrong with him. They suspect acid reflux (when it's bad it can have all the outward symptoms of a massive corronary). They've given him meds and sent him home to rest. Later on they're going to do a stress test; as with all things in the Canadian medical system, there is a waiting list. The doctors do not feel that either of his stents are failing. Yes, that was either -- as in two. We just found out the other day that they put in two stents in two different arteries. One was collapsed 85%, as I said earlier. The other had collapsed 95%. We had to learn this from our GP. We had innititally been led to believe that the second stent had been put in to replace the first, which had failed somehow.
You know, these guys at the Civic may be some of the best in the world, but they are seriously lacking in their ability to convey information to laymen.
Anyway, I got all of two hours sleep last night, so I'm staying home from work again and will rest -- I may run an errand later, but I'll call that one when I get to that point.
