I thought that I would share the photos my mom took this evening. For those who don't live in Ottawa, this is what Ottawa looks like right now (the link leads to an LJ gallery).
Okay, the insane Texan in me wants to go running and jumping into one of those huge snow-drifts. Thankfully, I live 2500 miles or so away and am therefor safe from such an insane impulse.
Looks very pretty. But cold and OMG that's gotta be such a bitch when it starts to melt! O.O
Aw, jumping into them isn't all that bad. Snow is surprisingly not cold considering it's frozen. The problem is when it melts on you and you get all wet, then it's big time *brrrr*
I figure that if it warms up slowly and it melts nice and slow, then we shouldn't have too much flooding, but if we get a heat wave or a lot of rain, we'll get water int he basement and the rivers will burst their banks. Ah, the joys of winter!
Yeah, I feel ya about the flooding. We live in a town fed by rivers and every five years or so, it always floods. Honestly we had so much rain last year I was sure the Guadalupe was going to break it's banks. *wrinkles* Hopefully, this year will not be a repeat performance. >_>
