And once again, UserFriendly is not half off ... It reminds me of the confusion my father's artificial knees cause at the security check every time ... or my underwire -- now that was a surprise!
Well it's not something I would try ... I don't relisht he idea of putting an eye out as I run to make my connection *snerk*
I have to say, though, this last trip was the first time the wand ever picked up my underwire ... I guess they just have it set a bit high in Detroit. I figure that eventually I'll go through security and they'll pick up the pin in my ankle and my braces!
You're lucky that's all that happened in Detroit! I believe it was the Detroit airport where a Couchsurfing friend of mine was subject to this awful machine that when she stepped into it (it looked like a regular security thing, but wasn't) sent tiny iron particles at her, sticking in her skin, and then sucked them back again. If ever asked to step into a different machine from the regular detectors - close your eyes! Still not sure what the purpose of that was.
Yeah, I don't think that I would have been any more gracious ... seriously, that is a good way to put someone's eye out. And with the proclivity of American lawsuits, I'm rather surprised that they'd pull a stunt like that with anyone.
