The joy of packing

wyntir_knightSo my family is moving this coming spring. My parents take possession of the house April 27 and we move that weekend. This leads to alot of work having to be done on the current house to prepare it for selling, and this leads to packing.
It's incredible how much crap can build up in a house during 26 years of residency. It's also incredible just how short a period of time six months is. I figured I had time to prepare for the move, but now we are getting in people to put in carpeting, and fix drywall, paint, and replace windows and suddenly six months is incredibly short.
Of course there's not just the handy-work that requires the moving of stuff. Apparently, people won't buy a crowded house. ... Who knew? ... alright, I knew, but still, I hate packing. I have just realized just how much of a pack-rat I am.
I have sent three bags of clothing to the Salvation Army, a box of books to the library, thrown out three bags of trash, and put three boxes of books and four boxes of electronics to storage. And I haven't even made a dent. ... It really is incredible just how much crap builds up in 26 years.
Well, back to packing ... I hate packing ...
