So Camp Nano (April) is over and I managed some work toward my Transformers/MCU fic. I even posted some of it (here). I'm fighting a little with the first chapter and I'm a little unsure of how to deal with the various plot lines, but at least I have some ideas down and I'm getting a bit of a better feel for how to get from point A to point Z.
I will admit that I may have bitten off more than I can chew, given that I am dealing with a total AU on both fronts - a complete reworking of Transformers canon (incorporating a lot of IDW's history with G1 characterization and some Bayverse characters) and I am ignoring large swaths of the MCU canon. Basically I'm ignoring everything after Winter Soldier, reworking some of Age of Ultron, and changing key plot points in Thor 2. Since I'm ignoring Civil War (because it was a total dumpster fire, imo) and setting this before Doctor Strange and Homecoming, I'll have to rework both Strange and Spidey and I think I am going to be ignoring the Inhumans and just bringing in the Mutants. Mainly because I kind of want to have Deadpool around to poke all of Red Alert and Prowl's buttons. And I want Nightcrawler to teach Skywarp how to teleport.
So, run down of the basic plot of my tentatively titled fic "Being Human":
A forcible peace has been achieved on Cybertron - a peace that is one of total conformity under a Functionist Council lead by Sentinel Prime and Lord High Protector Shockwave. A small group of Autobots and Decepticons manage to slip their leashes and leave Cybertron in search of both their lost leaders and the mythical Guiding Hand, finding signs of both on a far away blue and green world orbiting a young yellow sun. Unfortunately there is something outside of everyone's control manipulating the very nature of reality and the robotic Cybertronians find themselves dealing with something they could never have imagined. Being human. Thankfully the Avengers are there to help them out.
Yeah, there's more to it than that, but I figure that's a good synopsis given that I only have vague ideas and isolated scenes so far. All I know for sure is that the Guiding Hand and the Infinity Stone are one in the same and I'm not yet sure if I'm going to introduce Unicron/Glactus and have him eat Thanos. I probably won't given that it's a silly idea and only a thought because of how much I despise Thanos as a concept and I really do want to take the MCU in a totally different direction. I'll probably have Shockwave try to use the Gauntlet to bring about conformity. After he steps on Thanos.
