wyntir_knightSo I've decided to try and get into the habit of posting some stuff. I don't have anything complete yet, but I do have some bits that I'm happy with.
For my TF/MCU fic, I've been working on some backstory / world-building. Cybertron is controlled by Sentinel Prime and a Functionist Council. There are those who oppose the current leadership, but they are small and don't necessarily agree on their best course of action. But things have now changed now that Orion Pax has found the Matrix and is being reformatted into a Prime.

“Megatron, you are capable of defending yourself,” Shockwave said, his voice low enough to only be heard by the gladiator. “But do you really think that Orion would stand a chance against Sentinel and his secret police?”
Megatron’s lips thinned.
“No. He doesn’t. But he won’t agree to this when he gets out of that damned cocoon.” He emphasized the word when. He would not entertain the idea that Orion would not return. “He’s going to feel compelled to speak out. To correct this.”
“Yes, he always has been optimistic,” Shockwave agreed. “Always wanted to help the people of Cybertron.”
“He’s a fool!” Megatron snapped. “He’s a soft-parked fool and his optimism is going to be the ruin of everything and everyone.”
He turned away from Shockwave and barely stopped himself from punching the wall.
“Sentinel needs to be exposed. The Council needs to be exposed! When that happens we’ll be able to end all of this.” He sighed and turned back to Shockwave. “You’re right. Orion will be consumed by all of this. He’s an excellent mech but he wants to do what’s right rather than what’s needed.” He shook his head. “No. As long as he holds the Matrix, our hands are tied. We don’t dare expose this.”
“There is an option, though I am hesitant to suggest it,” Shockwave said.
“I’m listening.”
“Someone else can take the Matrix,” Shockwave said. “Even for only a little while. There are ancient records that indicate the Matrix can be shared; that the loss does not lead to deactivation.”
Megatron’s optics narrowed. He did not want to jump to any conclusions, but at the same time he felt a growing eagerness in his spark.
“I can take the Matrix. I can carry it and become a Prime. Is that what you’re suggesting?”
Shockwave nodded. The single optic in his empurataed head was inscrutable.
“It is only a theory, but the records imply that Nova and Nominus shared the Matrix for a time. Between myself and Ratchet, we should be able to remove the Matrix from Orion and then pass it back again when appropriate.” Shockwave stepped back and moved to the door. “Of course, it may never be required. Inform me when the cocoon opens. I would like to speak with Orion, discuss the future. With both of you. This may mark the turning point in our revolution.”
With that Shockwave let himself out.
