Day 13
In your own space, talk about a creator. Show us why you think they are amazing. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.
So today I am talking about another creator. Those in the Transformers fandom know this person already, but since this is being posted to the Challenge, I want to introduce the rest of you to her as well.

If you are interested in Ultharkitty's works, may I suggest the following:
This Gem of a World - The conception of the Whateley twins from Yog Sothoth's point of view. -- It's such a simple concept, and yet Ultharkitty manages to make the entire act come across as totally surreal and unreal. It makes sense given that Yog Sothoth is space and time and all and nothing.
When the Stars are Right - Something is wrong with the nature of the universe. The Prime is dead, Cybertron overrun, and all that stands between our reality and ultimate destruction is him Grimlock! -- The Stars Are Right and Cybertron has fallen to the unknowable things of the Mythos. Ultharkitty really gets across the insanity of the events and shows that not even giant alien robots are immune from the start terror of Cthulhu and his ilk.
Incidents in the Life of an Archivist - High Archivist Tlalos has led the Great Race of Yith through a successful migration to Earth, but at a cost far higher than anyone could have imagined. Fallen from political power, zie seeks to regain hir former place on the Ruling Council, but that is not the end of hir ambition.
Tlalos has hir eyes on a greater prize, one that will bring all of time and space under hir control. In order to further hir aims, zie must first assemble the right research team, and travel the length of Earth's history to find the pieces to a puzzle that could spell ruin for them all.
The summary really says it all for this story. This expands on Peaslee's recollections and expands upon "The Shadow Out Of Time" and the Greath Race of Yith.
Not Alone - Jazz can't sleep and comes calling on Smokescreen. -- Short, sweet, and wonderfully in character. This story is a slice of life moment wherein Jazz and Smokescreen find comfort in each other. As I said above, not all of Ultharkitty's stuff is dark and surreal. Come of it is beautifully sweet.

Date: 20 Jan 2015 22:49 (UTC)I'm ridiculously happy you like my Lovecraftian stuff, especially Incidents (I did a happyflail when I saw you'd left Kudos :D It's probably bad of me, but I worked my arse off on that story and I kinda love it, so it's awesome to see other people enjoy it too). I'm still full of Yithian thoughts.
BTW, have you heard any of the new stuff to come out of the HPLHS? They've just done a CD of Innsmouth sea shanties, and I want new stories about Deep Ones so bad.

Date: 21 Jan 2015 15:45 (UTC)I hadn't heard of the Deep One Sea Shanties, but I'll have to check it out. I absolutely adired the Lovecraftian Christmas Carols that came out a few years ago. As for the Deep Ones, I do agree that there needs to be more of them and I've been mulling over my own ideas on some stories.

Date: 26 Jan 2015 07:54 (UTC)I love the carols! For some of them I hadn't heard the regular version before, so the Lovecraftian lyrics are always the first to come to mind when I hear them. Have you heard the 'Dreams in the Witch House' rock opera? It's another one of theirs, and it's so good.
I'm intrigued about your Deep One plot ideas :D

If you do ever write either of those bunnies, poke me cause I definitely want to read them :)
