Let's do an update!

wyntir_knightPolyhex is coming along nicely and I have a new chapter posted. The only issue I'm having now is that I really, really, REALLY want to write Smokey/Mirage pronz now. I may just write it as something they run across in Jazz's processor. I figure that there will be a variety of confused fantasies in there, after all. And that will make things so very awkward for poor 'Raj.
The MCU/TF cross-over isn't really going very far, though I do have a variety of scenes written for it. Just no actual storyline. But the scenes are fun and I'm getting a better feel for the voices of the MCU cast.
I'm also working on an original piece of fiction. Right now I'm in the world-building phase and that's actually going a long very well. Basically I'm writing a modern-day steampunk story and I've been trying to make the modern world fit into a steampunk aesthetic, mostly by changing the history of the 19th and 20th century. I've even gone all the way back to the American and French revolutions and tweaked those a bit. Yes, these aren't likely to be things that actually come up in the story, but I like having the background. And writing is writing, right?
Now, as always when I have stuff that MUST be written, the bunnies start to come out of the woodwork and won't leave me alone. It would be an issue if I could write short fiction, but every time I try, the stories end up epic in scope.
1. Smokescreen is found in one of the unused corridors of the Ark, beaten and in desperate need of medical attention. Red Alert has no footage of the event and Smokescreen doesn't know who attacked him. Or so he claims. -- I really wish I had more of an idea than this. I just want to write a mystery and I want to be mean to Smokey. *shrugs*
2. I wrote a very short speed-writing fic a while back called "The Nightingale Effect". I really, really want to get back to that one. I have a mental image of Smokey reprogrammed to believe that he's always been a Con and is their shrink. Of course he'll learn otherwise, but he may not be able to defeat the robosmasher programming, and if he can, will he take the Constructicons with him when (and if) he leaves)
3. I really, really need to get back to "The Longest Con" because that story has a lot of tale to tell.
4. "It Wasn't Supposed To End This Way" needs to be expanded upon, and I'm hoping that I can finish this story in 10,000 words, but I fear it will be a longer story. After all, it can be really difficult to tell a good What-If story succinctly.
5. I started a series ages back called "The Sessions". This was supposed to be a series of short stories detailing the psych sessions Smokey has with the crew. I have some vague ideas there, but not a whole lot. Part of me is really, really tempted to do one story for each crewmember of the Ark. I think that it'll be a good way to get a feel for the lesser used characters.
6. Lastly, I wrote a short story that explored Captain Marvel in the DC universe. "The What-Ifs and Wisdom of Solomon". I really want to get back to this because I really, really adore Billy Batson and Captain Marvel. Plus I really want to expand into a new canon.
7. I also want to get back into the TMNT fandom. I had this idea for a story ages back that was a TMNT/Lovecraft crossover in which Donnie and Raph get caught up with some Investigators. It should be fun in an insanity creating way!
