Stories for a winter's night

I dropped Scout off at the dealership first thing this morning for her check up and to have an airbag replaced (there was a recall on the part). I got breakfast and got a ride into work. Everything was good until I got a call from my mom. Now here's where the broken telephone begins. She told me that the dealership called my dad and told him that I needed work done on my brakes. He goes ahead and approves the work. After all, you don't mess with the brakes. Unfortunately, my father apparently didn't tell my mom everything and she tells me that my brakes need to be replaced.

Unfortunately I can't get any other information than that. Are the brakes actually shot or is it the brake pads that need to be replaced? I don't know and I nearly have a heart attack as I'm picturing that the whole system needs replacing! So I call West Ottawa and they confirm that it's just a cleaning ... Thank goodness! I can't afford the whole shebang but I can't afford to not get it done either. This makes me much happier.
