So, I've been trying my hand at the art classes over on Drawspace.com. The lessons are done by the same woman who did the Drawing for Dummies book I that took lessons from before, but this site has some additional lessons in it as well.

It's a great site for anyone who's interested in taking classes at home. They charge something like 36$ for three months subscription, but all that gets you is the ability to download and print the lessons. Otherwise, they are viewable online. Personally, at this point, I don't mind drawing at my computer desk. That'll probably change if I get more serious, but for the moment, it's all pretty fine.

Anyway, below the cut is the result of lesson C7 (Kira). I am very pleased with this. Now I'll have to see if I can do the same thing without the illustrated instructions in front of me on the screen.

I've finally had the opportunity to continue my self-guided drawing course. Today's lesson was intended to show the use of lines in a drawing. After all, when it comes down to it, unless you're Pollack, it all comes down to lines.

I think I did rather well, considering. I still need to work on the hands, since they look rather dreadful. But I can't expect perfection first time out.

This project was intended to teach composition.

I read the first chapter of Drawing for Dummies and worked on the first project. The author calls him Wooley Woo, but I call him Dust Bunny.
